State-owned Telecom operator BSNL has launched two new prepaid plans to celebrate the spirit of Independence Day. Dubbed Freedom offer, BSNL has launched two new “chota pack” plans at Rs 9 and Rs 29 to offer unlimited data and calling benefits. These plans aim to take on similar small budget recharge plans from Airtel, Jio, Vodafone and Idea.
BSNL, under the new Freedom offer, is giving unlimited voice calling benefits to all network along with unlimited data, 100 SMS per day, and access to free Personalised Ringback Tone. Also, these plans are available from August 10 to August 25 only.
The BSNL Rs 29 plan comes with an FUP limit of 2GB data per day after which the speed will fall to 80Kbps. It is a weekly pack so the validity so the validity is only for 7 days. The plan after August 25 will offer 1GB data and 300 SMS for the validity period. Rest of the benefits remain same.
Next is BSNL Rs 9 recharge. The company is offering same benefits as that of Rs 29 but with one big change. This plan comes with just 1 day validity. The recharge plan will get you unlimited voice calling benefits to any network, unlimited data and 100 SMS per day. The plan comes with an FUP limit of 2GB post which speed will fall to 80Kbps. Note that the unlimited calling in both the plans are available in all circles except Delhi and Mumbai.
Talking about the cheap plans, BSNL has recently also revised its Rs 14, Rs 19, and Rs 40 plan to offer more data at old prices. BSNL Rs 14 plan now offers 1GB data per day instead of 110MB. The Rs 29 plan also now offers 1GB data per day for three days instead of 150MB. Lastly, BSNL has also revised Rs 57 and Rs 40 plans to offer 1GB data per day.
Recharge plan that compete with BSNL Rs 29 plan are-
— Airtel Rs 9 plan that offers unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, 100MB data and 100 SMS for one day
— Idea Rs 44 plan that offers 250MB 3G 4G data 7 days.
