Bhubaneswar, Sep 13 (PTI) The railways have began restructuring and modification work at Puri railway station in Odisha as a result of which some trains can be cancelled or partially cancelled, an official stated Thursday.
The East Coast railway (ECoR) has determined to supply free bus providers between Bhubaneswar-Puri and Khurda Road – Puri for the bonafide passengers of partially cancelled trains for the protection associated mega modernisation work at Puri railway station, in the course of the interval, he stated.
Bonafide passengers who’re alleged to entrain or detrain at Puri might be supplied with free bus service to and from Puri from Khurda Road and Bhubaneswar railway station for Puri-Howrah-Puri Dhauli Express, Puri-Sambalpur-Puri Inter City, Puri-Howrah-Puri Shatabdi Express and Puri-Tirupati-Puri Express in the course of the interval in each the instructions
“To avoid mass disruption of train services and to avoid large-scale inconvenience to people, total train services have not been cancelled. Rather, a few trains have been cancelled only,” the official stated.
While the Puri station handles 54 trains on a mean per day and likewise handles 10,000 passengers every day, altogether, 12 pairs of mail/specific trains and four pairs of native passenger trains will stay cancelled in the course of the restructuring work, officers stated.
Modification and big works at Puri station includes shifting of yard structure, signalling modifications, modifications in overhead wire gear and sleepers of tracks, factors and others which can end in upgrading infrastructure/enhance capability to deal with trains at Puri, they stated.
