“They are armed with sticks, iron rods and sometimes desi katta (countrymade pistols). They always break open front door, tie up family members in separate rooms and catch a train from nearby railway station to flee the city,” stated an official who has been previously related to the Crime Branch of Jaipur police. Their areas of operations thus far haven’t prolonged far past Bajaj Nagar, Barkat Nagar and secluded areas like Pratap Nagar, Malviya Nagar and Sanganer. It is for the primary time within the metropolis, that they’ve focused a VIP locality.
“The Mansarovar locality is near a highway, they could go on a looting spree and flee from the highway,” the official stated. “They only wear shorts and vests. They smear their bodies with oil on their hands and hair so that nobody can catch them,” the official stated.
The crime department of Jaipur police in 2017 had dug up outdated instances involving Bawariya, Pardi, and Kachcha Baniyan gangs. The police investigation revealed that the gang operated often throughout wet season.
“There are usually four to eight members in a gang. It doesn’t matter if their victims resist or not, they would still beat up people. They also sometimes molest women of the family that they loot,” the official stated. “They are active in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, western Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. They have, in several cases, looted pocket money from children,” the official stated.
