HC notice to Maran brothers in ‘illegal’ telephone exchange, Telecom News, ET Telecom


The Madras High Court as we speak issued notice to all respondents in the alleged unlawful telephone alternate case on a petition by CBI difficult the order of discharge of former Union Minister Dayanithi Maran and others.

When the petition by CBI got here up, Justice G Jaichandran directed issuance of notice to all these concerned in the case, returnable by June 20.

The CBI had alleged that an unlawful personal telephone alternate was arrange on the Chennai residence of Dayanidhi Maran throughout 2004-06 when he was the Telecom minister and it was used for the enterprise transactions involving the Sun Network owned by his brother Kalanithi

The central company had alleged that Dayanidhi Maran had brought about a lack of Rs 1.78 crore to the exchequer.

Other accused who’ve been discharged are former BSNL normal supervisor Ok Brahmanathan, former deputy normal supervisor M P Velusamy, Dayanidhi Maran’s personal secretary Gauthaman and a few Sun TV officers.
