Raipur: Congress president Rahul Gandhi in his first election rally in poll-bound Chhattisgarh launched a scathing assault on PM Narendra Modi. Gandhi accused the PM of ruining the nation by way of demonetisation. Gandhi requested the aim of demonetisation and requested the aim it served.
“From curbing corruption to fighting terrorism, from increasing the tax base to creating a cashless economy, we have heard it all and we’ve seen it fail. What exactly was the purpose of Demonetisation?” Gandhi requested.
Gandhi who was campaigning in Kanker for the primary part of the Assembly elections within the state additionally attacked the PM over Rafale deal.
Rahul Gandhi known as the Rafael deal a Rs 30,000 crore rip-off and claimed that the deal signed underneath the UPA authorities was cheaper in comparison with the one signed by the BJP authorities. “It was decided that the price of one aircraft would be Rs 526 crore and that it would be made by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). But after coming to power, our prime minister himself changed the rates of the deal and bought one aircraft worth Rs 526 crore for Rs 1600 crores,” Gandhi stated.
Gandhi additional stated that the PM gave Rs 30,000 crore cash of the taxpayers to Anil Ambani-led Reliance Defence which has not produced a single plane thus far.
The first part on November 12 will see 18 seats of eight Naxal-affected districts go to polls. Of these, 12 are Scheduled Tribe seats whereas one is a Scheduled Caste-reserved seat.
The remaining 72 constituencies will witness polling on November 20 and counting of votes can be held on December 11. A complete of1, 291 candidates are within the fray for the two-phased state polls.
