PUNE: Telecom operators have sought time till November 20 from the Department of Telecommunication (DoT) and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to change from Aadhaar verification to the new KYC course of.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) had requested Telecom operators to be prepared with another verification course of by November 5 and ordered the operators to cease utilizing Aadhaar e-KYC for the verification course of.

However, the operators have requested that they be allowed to proceed with Aadhaar-based eKYC till November 20 in order to implement the new digital verification course of.
