Vodafone Idea officially starts operation as largest Indian telco

NEW DELHI: Telecom shares have been buying and selling within the damaging zone with the S&P BSE Telecom index down 0.68 per cent at 1028.35 on Tuesday.

Shares of Vodafone Idea (down 2.25 per cent), Tejas Networks (down 1.85 per cent), Bharti Airtel (down 1.80 per cent) and OnMobile Global (down 1.56 per cent) have been the highest losers within the index.

ITI (down 1.48 per cent), Aksh Optifibre (down 1.32 per cent) and Reliance Communications (down 0.15 per cent) too have been among the many worst performers.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 22.90 factors at 10,651.5 whereas BSE Sensex was up 72.77 factors at 35,426.85 round 02:20 pm.

Among the 50 shares within the Nifty index, 22 have been buying and selling within the inexperienced, whereas 28 have been within the purple.

Shares of South Indian Bank, YES Bank, Reliance Communications, Suzlon Energy, JP Associates, Sun Pharma, JSPL, Idea cellular, Kwality, Dewan Housing, Tata Steel, GMR Infra, SAIL, Vedanta, IFCI and Jet Airways have been among the many most traded shares on the National Stock Exchange.
