In a humorous tweet posted on Tuesday, the minister shared a photograph of his pug Eddie, who was his journey companion throughout his latest Rajdhani journey – in an try that the community would observe the canine.
“I took my Puggie Eddie with me on Rajdhani hoping Vodafone network wud follow him though the journey – afterAll he is their Brand Ambassador that’s what they claim in their commercials !!,” Supriyo posted on Twitter.
The minister was making a reference to the now iconic “You & I” promoting marketing campaign that featured Cheeka the pug, which adopted an eight-year-old boy wherever he went. Cheeka ultimately grew to become the face of Hutch/Vodafone in India and “Wherever you go, our network follows,” later grew to become synonymous with the marketing campaign, and model identification.
Even although Supriyo’s ‘trick’ did not fall into place, the Twitterati did not complain.
