Three people have been killed in a fireplace that broke out in a bit of the rubber plant at the Reliance Industries’ advanced in Vadodara on Thursday.

The blaze erupted within the PBR2 (polybutadiene rubber) plant in Vadodara, the corporate stated in an announcement.

“In an unfortunate incident this morning, a fire broke out in PBR2 plant of the Vadodara complex. The fire was restricted to one section of the plant and timely action by Reliance firefighting team helped in quickly extinguishing the fire,” it stated.

Three contractual staff, who have been injured within the mishap, later succumbed to accidents regardless of greatest efforts of the medical workforce, it stated.

“Our prayers and sympathies are with their families in their time of grief and we will support the families to overcome their personal tragedy,” the corporate stated.

An investigation shall be carried out to establish the reason for the fireplace, the assertion stated, including that the remainder of the advanced continued with regular operations.
